(a) When the paint is applied on a surface of an iron article it prevents air and moisture to come in contact with the object and thus prevents rusting.
(b) The copper alloys like brass and bronze are poor conductors of electricity. Copper is a good conductor of electricity and hence is used as electrical wires.
(c) 22-carat gold is 22 parts of pure gold alloyed with 2 parts of either silver or copper for making ornaments. As gold is a very soft metal, Silver and copper are usually alloyed with gold to make it harder.
