(a) Combination reactions are those reactions in which two or more substances combine to form a single substance or product or two reactants combine to form one product. This substance has different characteristics than the reactants.
For example, when hydrogen and oxygen react it forms water. Both hydrogen and oxygen are gases but water is liquid.
2H2 + O2 = 2 H2O
