A dice is rolled once. What is the probability that the number on top will be a multiple of 3 ?

Answer:

A dice is rolled once, the possible outcomes are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Then,

The probability that the number on top will be a multiple of 3

Multiple of 3 = 3 and 6

Then,

Probability = total number of multiple of 3/ Total number of outcomes

= 2/6 … [divide numerator and denominator by 2]

= 1/3
