Question 24 Statistics and Probability - Exercise 13.3

A bag contains 10 red, 5 blue and 7 green balls. A ball is drawn at random, Find the probability of this ball being a red ball.

Answer:

No. of red balls = 10

Number of blue balls = 5

Number of green balls = 7

Total number of balls T(E) = (10 + 5 + 7) = 22

Number of favourable outcomes of getting a red ball = F(E) = 10

\mathrm{P}(\mathrm{E})=\frac{\mathrm{F}(\mathrm{E})}{\mathrm{T}(\mathrm{E})}=\frac{10}{22}=\frac{5}{11}
