Question 86 Probability Exercise 13.1

A bag contains lemon flavoured candies only. Malini takes out one candy without looking into the bag.

What is the probability that she takes out an orange flavoured candy.

An impossible event is one that doesn't take place. There is no chance that it may occur. Therefore, there is no chance of that happening and its probability is zero.

We know that the bag contains lemon flavoured candies only. So, the event that Malini will take out an orange flavoured candy is an impossible event.

Thus, the probability of impossible event is 0

P(an orange flavoured candy) = 0
