 # RD Sharma Solutions Class 10 Mathematics Solutions for Probability Exercise 13.1 in Chapter 13 - Probability

A bag contains 3 red balls and 5 black balls. A ball is drawn at random from the bag. What is the probability that the ball drawn is Black.

Solution:

The possibility that an event will occur is referred to as the probability of the event. In mathematics, this possibility of an event happening is represented by a number between 0 and 1.

Given: A bag contains 3 red, and 5 black balls. A ball is drawn at random

Required to find: Probability of getting a black ball

Total number of balls 3 + 5 = 8

Total number of black ball are 5

We know that, Probability = Number of favourable outcomes/ Total number of outcomes

Thus, the probability of drawing a black ball = 5/8
