Let that the greatest height = x m.

According to the figure

\begin{aligned} \frac{x}{100} &=\sin 60^{\circ} \quad\left[\because \frac{\text { Perp. }}{\text { Hypot. }}=\sin \right] \\ \frac{x}{100} &=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} \\ x &=86.6 \mathrm{m} \end{aligned}

The greatest height reached by the kite is 86.6 m

"hi students welcome to lido's online homework solving session this is shafrin and i'm your max lido tutor today i'm going to solve the following question the question is a kite is attached to a 100 meter long string find the greatest height reached by the kite when a string makes an angle of 60 degree with when h string makes an angle of 60 degree with the level ground so in this question this is the kite a is the kite a is the kite and bc is the ground level and a kite is attached to a 100 meter long string so this is the string so that is 100 meter that is 100 meter long string 100 meter long string it makes an angle when a string makes an angle so that 100 meter long string makes an angle of 60 degree with the level ground now let the greatest height be now we have to find the height that is the greatest height reached by the kite so let the greatest height be x meter let the greatest height let the greatest height equal to x meter so according to the figure sine 60 degree is equal to sine 60 degree is equal to because we should find the opposite side that is ac is x meter ac is x meter therefore sine 60 degree is opposite side divided by hypotenuse side opposite side is ac ac is x meter and hypotenuse side is a b that is hundred meter sine sixty degrees root three by two root three by two equal to x by hundred therefore x is equal to hundred root three divided by two two one hundred get cancelled in two table hundred is fifty times and the value of 50 root 3's root 3 is 1.732 therefore multiplying 50 and 1.73 to x is equal to 86.6 meter 86.6 meter so the greatest height reached by the kite is 86.6 meter hope you understood this question for more such video solutions please subscribe for lidow learning and if you have any doubt then drop down in the comment section thank you"
