Q10) The cost of fencing a square field at the rate of Cost of fencing 440 m = ₹150 x 440 = ₹75 per meter is Cost of fencing 440 m = ₹150 x 440 = ₹67,500. Find the perimeter and the side of the square field.

Solution:

Length of the fence x its rate = Rs. 67500

Length of the fence =Rs.\frac{67500}{75} = 900 m

Perimeterof the square field = length of fence = 900 m

Let us consider the length of the square be x.

As we know, the perimeter of square = 4 x length of its side

∴ Length of the side of square =\frac{Perimeter\ }{4}=\frac{900}{4}=225m
