Q12) A school playground is rectangular in shape with length = 120 m and breadth = 90 m. Some school boys run along the boundary of the play-ground and make 15 complete rounds in 45 minutes. How much distance they run during this period.
Solution
Transcript
Solution 12:
Length of the rectangular playground = 120 m Breadth of the rectangular playground = 90 m
∴ Perimeter of the rectangular ground = 2(l + b)
= 2(120 + 90) m = 420 m
Thus, in one complete round, boys covers a distance of = 420 m
∴ Distance covered in 15 complete rounds = 420 m x 15 = 6300 m
hello guys welcome to lead homework today we're doing question number 12 which is a school playground is rectangular in shape with a length 120 meter and breadth 90 meters some schoolboys run along the boundary of the playground and make 15 complete rounds in 45 minutes how much distance they run during this period okay so first of all the first step to do is find the perimeter because people run along the perimeter right you might be running on your school ground if suppose it is like this, you run on the boundary right when you practice or anything so in this case, it is rectangular you just have to find the perimeter that is the boundary so the length is 120-meter breadth is 90 meter of course the perimeter is 2 into length plus breadth which is 120 plus 90 this will give you uh the perimeter as 2 into 210 so your answer will come out to be 420 okay so 420 meter is the total perimeter now as the boys are taking 15 rounds 2 into 210 so your answer will come out to be 420 okay so 420 meter is the total perimeter now as the boys are taking 15 rounds we have to find the total distance so our answer will be 420 multiplied by 15 because one round is 420 and we have to find 15 out so 420 into fifteen so five zeros are zero five twos are ten one will carry five fours are twenty twenty-plus one is twenty-one will put zero over here and you will get zero to four over here and your answer will come out to be zero zero three and six so this is your final answer guys which is six thousand three hundred so the boys run six thousand three hundred meter or six-point three kilometers in total duration of 45 minutes if you have any doubts please post it in the comments below and we'll get back to you as soon as possible thank you so much
