Question 12

Q12) One fourth of a number added to one- sixth of itself is 15. Find the number.

Solution 12:

Let the required number = x

Then \frac{x}{4}+\frac{x}{6}=15

\frac{x\times3+x\times2}{12}=15

\frac{3x+2x}{12}=15

5x=15\times12

x=\frac{15\times12}{5}=3\times12\ =\ 36

Required number = 36
