Question 24

Q12) The sum of two expressions is 3a^2+2ab-b^2. If one of them is 2a^2+3b^2, find the other.

Solution 12:

(3a^2+2ab-b^2) - (2a^2+3b^2)

= 3a^2+2ab-b^2 - 2a^2+3b^2

= 3a^2-2a^2+2ab-b^2+3b^2

= a^2+2ab-4b^2
