Question 21

Q11) The sum of two expressions is 5x^2-3y . If one of them is 3x^2+4xy-y^2, find the other.

Solution 11:

(5x^2-3y) - (3x^2+4xy-y^2)

= 5x^2-3y - 3x^2+4xy-y^2

=

= 2x2- 4xy – 2y2

=5x^2-3x^2-4xy+y^2-3y^2

= 2x^2-4xy-2y^2
