Q12) Mr. Sharma has a monthly salary of ₹ 8,000. If he spends ₹ 6,400 every month; find :

(i) his monthly expenditure as percent.

(ii) his monthly savings as percent.

Solution:

Monthly salary of Mr. Sharma = Rs. 8000

He spends every month = Rs. 6400

His savings = 8000 - 6400 = Rs. 1600

(i) Percent expenditure = \frac{6400}{8000}\times100\%=80\%

(ii) Percent savings = \frac{1600}{8000}\times100\%=20\%
