The capacity of a cuboidal tank is 50000 litres of water. Find the breadth of the tank if its length and depth are respectively 10m and 2.5m. (Given, 1000 litres = 1m3.)
ANSWER:
It is given that
Length of the cuboidal tank = 10m
Depth of the cuboidal tank = 2.5m
Volume of the cuboidal tank = 5000 litres = 50 m3
We know that
Volume of a cuboidal tank = l × b × h
By substituting the values
50 = 10 × b × 2.5
On further calculation
b = 2m
Therefore, the breadth of the cuboidal tank is 2m.
