A cycle dealer offers a discount of 10% and still makes a profit of 26%. What isthe actual cost to him of a cycle whose marked price is Rs. 840?

Answer:

Given,

Marked price (MP) on cycle = Rs 840

Discount = 10%

Discount = (MP × Discount %)/100

= (840×10)/100

= Rs 84

SP = MP – Discount

= 840 – 84

= Rs 756

Given, he makes a profit of 26% additionally

So, by using the formula,

CP = 100 / (100 + Gain %) × SP

= 100 / (100 + 26) × 756

= 100/126 × 756

= 600

∴ Actual cost of the cycle is Rs 600

"hello students i am rita your match
leader tutor
and today's question is a cycle dealer
offers a discount of 10 percent
and still makes a profit of 26 percent
what is the actual cost to him of a
cycle
whose marked price is rupees 840
in this question discount profit and
mark price
is given to us and we have to find the
cost price
so as we know discount is apply
on the marked price first of all marked
price
is given to us rupees
840 and discount percent is
10 so first of all we apply the formula
of selling price
is equal to marked price minus discount
marked price is 840 and discount is
10 so 10 percent of 840
we got 84 when
we subtract 840 minus
84 we got rupees
756 so this is our selling price
and we have to find the cost price
profit
percent is given is 26
now we apply the formula here the
cost price
is equal to 100
divided by 100 plus
divided by
100 plus
profit percent
into sp
now we put the values here 100 divided
by 100 plus
profit percent is 26 percent
into sp sp is 756.
now we solve this equation 100
divided by 126
into 756
now we cancel out this 1
26 into
6 126 6 up
and 6 so the cost price
is equal to rupees 100 into 6
600 so this is our answer
