A dishonest shopkeeper professes to sell pulses at his cost price but uses a falseweight of 950 gm for each kilogram. Find his gain percent.

Answer:

Let us consider the cost price of 1000gm pulses be Rs x

Selling price of 950 gm pulses is also = Rs x

Selling price of 1000 gm pulses = x/950 × 1000

So, Gain = SP – CP

Gain = 1000x/950 – x

= (1000x – 950x)/950

= 50x/950

Gain % = (gain/cost price) × 100

= (50x/950)/x × 100

= 50x/950x × 100

= 5/95 × 100

= 100/19

= 5 5/19%

∴ The Shopkeeper’s gain percent is 5 5/19%

"hello students i am rita your mass
leader tutor and the today's question is
a dishonest shopkeeper professes to sell
pulses at his cost price
but uses a false weight of 950 gram for
each kilogram find his gain percent
in this question first of all we let
let cp of pulses
is equal to rupees
x and the sp
of that is selling price of
950 gram of
pulses is equal to rupees
x also so the sp of
1 gram of pulses is equal to
x divided by 950 and we have to find in
each
kilogram so spo
kilogram it means one kilogram is equal
to thousand gram
thousand gram of pulses is equal to x
divided by
950 into thousand
okay 0 0 cancel out each other it
becomes 100
by 95
x after that in the question it is given
that it is a case of gain
so gain is equal to sp minus
cp sp is 100 by 95
x and cp is
x the lcm is 95
100 x minus 95 x
we got 5 by 95
x we cancel out 5 and the 5 5 and the 5
5 9 45 so it becomes 1 by 19 x this is
our date
and we have to find the gain percent the
formula of gain percent is gain
divided by cp into
100 so gain is 1 by 19 x
divided by cp cp is
x into 100
so x and x cancel out each other so it
becomes 100 by
19 and when we divide it we got
5 is to 5 by
19 percent so this is our answer
the gain percent is the gain percent is
5
is to 5 by 19 percent
so this is our answer i hope you like
