Q1) Carry out the multiplication of the expressions in each of the following pairs:

Solution:
(i) 4p\times\left(q+r\right)=4p\times q+4p\times r\ =\ 4pq+4pr
(ii) ab\times\left(a-b\right)=ab\times a-ab\times b=a^2b-ab^2
(iii) \left(a+b\right)\times7a^2b^2=a\times7a^2b^2+b\times7a^2b^2=7a^3b^2+7a^2b^3
(iv) \left(a^2-9\right)\times4a=a^2\times4a-4a\times9=4a^3-36a
(v) (pq+qr+rp) x 0 = pq x 0 + qr x 0 + rp x 0
= 0 + 0 + 0 = 0
