Solution:
Let the number of bottles filled by the machine in five hours be x.
Here ratio of hours and bottles are in direct proportion.
\frac{6}{840}=\frac{5}{x}\Rightarrow6\times x=5\times840
\Rightarrow x\ =\ \frac{5\times840}{6}=700 bottles.
Hence the machine will fill 700 bottles.
