Q4.A flooring tile has the shape of a parallelogram whose base is 24 cm and the corresponding height is 10 cm. How many such tiles are required to cover a floor of area 1080m^2 ?
Ans 4. Area of floor=1080\ m^2
To find,
No.of tiles required to cover the floor
=\frac{area\ of\ floor}{area\ of\ 1\ tile}
Area of tile in the shape =base\ \times height
base=24 cm height=10 cm
Area=24\times10
=240\ cm^2
No.of tiles=\frac{area\ of\ floor}{area\ of\ each\ tile}
=\frac{1080\ m^2}{240\ m^2}
==1080\times100000\div240\ cm^2
=45,000 tiles.
