Grade 7

Congruence of Triangles | Exercise 7.2

Question 7

In a squared sheet, draw two triangles of equal areas such that

(i) the triangles are congruent.

(ii) the triangles are not congruent.

What can you say about their perimeters?

Solution 7:

i) If the triangle are congruent, i.e. \Delta ABC\cong\Delta PQR (By SSS congruence rule). Then, their perimeters are the same because, the length of the sides of the first triangles are equal to the length of the sides of another triangle.

ii) If the triangles are not congruent, then their perimeters are not the same because the length of sides of the first triangle are not equal to the length of the corresponding sides.
