Q10) Medicine is packed in boxes, each weighing 4 kg 500g. How many such boxes can be loaded in a van which cannot carry beyond 800 kg?

Solution 10:

Weight of a box = 4kg 500g

= 4\times1000\ +\ 500 = 4,500g

Weight that can be loaded in van = 800kg

=\ 800\times1,000\ \ =\ 8,00,000g

No. of boxes that can be loaded =

8,00,000\div4,500\ =\ 177

Therefore,

177 boxes can be loaded in the van.
