Q11) Give four examples of each of the above types of solutions i.e. true solution, colloidal solution & suspension. Give a reason why a true solution does not exhibit ‘Tyndall effect’

Solution:

  1. True solution - Salt solution, copper sulphate solution, sugar and water solution, vinegar, air, brass.
  2. Colloidal solution - Milk, Blood, Soap solution, starch solution, ink
  3. Suspension - Milk of magnesia, chalk powder and water solution, flour in water, muddy water.

A true solution has extremely small particles which cannot reflect light, hence a true solution cannot exhibit ‘Tyndall effect’
