Question 5 Number Problems

the cylinder of 20 liters capacity contains gas at atmospheric pressure. How many flasks of 200 cm3 capacity can be filled from it at 1 atmosphere pressure, temperature remaining constant ?

Answer:

P= 100 atm

V= 20 ltrs

P1 = 1atm

V1=?

T= T1

Using equation

PV/T = P1V1/T1

100 x 20/T = 1 x V1/T

V1= 2000 ltrs = 2m3 ( 100 lit = 1m3)

Volume of one falsk = 200/100x100x100

Number of flasks = 2 x 1000000/200 = 10000
