Vegetative reproduction is a method wherein new plants are produced by vegatative parts of a plant called propagules. The vegetative parts mean the leaf, stem and root. Vegetative propagation is grouped into the following two types:

  1. Natural vegetative propagation including reproduction by stem, leaf, and root.
  2. Artificial vegetative propagation includes reproduction by cutting, layering, grafting, and micro-propagation.
